RSS Feeds

"RSS feeds" was not the easiest topic in the Library 2.0 Challenge course for me to understand. I first thought that new posts to the blogs I selected for RSS feeds would show up in my email. Wrong! Apparently I must go to my account at bloglines to see if anything new has been posted. But wouldn't it be more convenient if this info showed up in my incoming email or on my blog page or home page or another page I frequent on the internet?

I really don't prefer to visit a different site like bloglines to check my RSS feeds either. At first, using a reader was the only way to get them -- now it is a little old fashioned I think. The next step is to learn how to embed the feeds in your web page or blog, to bring them to you instead of having to go get them- like the way we have linked to the RSS for the ALA Intellectual Freedom Blog on our MLA intellectual freedom page: http://mlaif.blogspot.com/ (on the bottom left, below the contributor list).

I'm with you. That's why I use iGoogle (or Google home page). It's the start page on my computer and I have my RSS feeds there so I can see them whenever I open up my browser. Here's where you go to get started:
